What about the wee ones …

We have a nursery staffed at our 10:30am service.  Rachel, our early childhood educated attendant would be happy to care for your child as you worship.

Family Worship is encouraged and welcomed at St. Matthew’s. The sound of children in our church is the most beautiful music that can be heard in our parish. At the back of the church a rocking chair is available for anyone. This is also a great place for your children to play if you would like to keep you baby and toddler with you.

Children’s programs

Children ages 3 to 12 begin the 10:30 service with their parents in the church. After the opening announcements and hymn they gather at the front of the church for a short talk geared to their level, after which they go downstairs for their programs. They’ll rejoin their parents in church just before Communion.

Sunday School – Ages 4 -8

After Labour Day our Sunday School resumes each year.  Currently we are using the Re:Form curriculum as a framework for younger children.  Led by Certified Pastoral Councelor Valetta Davis your child will enjoy a vibrant, safe and enriching learning environment while you worship with other adults.

Sunday Morning Youth – 8 and up

Tweens and teens are valued in our parish, and we want to meet their needs.  During worship tweens and teens are invited to either join their peers with our skill small group leader, David Clarke, in the church hall.  A well rounded life of faith means grappling with God in everyday life.  Topics like Prayer, fitting in, bullying and how you experience God are explored in a safe, intimate environment.  Active service in the local community is encouraged, as giving back is part of any life of faith.
